I don't want to be a brainy blogger giving you a bunch of facts that you can look up and find anywhere, but I certainly want to be faithful to share what I have received, should it be a blessing to you. Everyone has something to say about the Holy Land, but I seem to be speechless. This is why talking about my experiences is going to be hard.
Most of what i received was not in words or even understanding, thats why it feels like i am trying to translate, except I don't know the language. What I felt, was closer to Heaven than any other worshipful- or spiritual experience. It wasn't because of the "Jerusalem Hype", and certainly not because of all the religious people surrounding me, it was just because it felt like home.
As far as I know I am not Jewish, nor has there been anyone in my ancestry Jewish, but I felt the way many of my Jewish friends describe, like my heart just felt connected to the land.
There were many, many religious people everywhere, and I felt so "free" of religion among them. I felt so full of joy and peace, no one else's baggage came near me. Partly, I know because I had so many friends and family praying for me, but also because I felt like I didn't have to be "anyone" or do "anything" to prove a thing. I simply just was. No big emotional encounters, no big 'revelations' from God, just a lot of peace and feeling like I connected to my life-source.
Many have asked what was the best part of the trip, and I really can't say. It was more than just Jerusalem, it was the entire land. The farms, the countryside, the desert, the Jordan, the Sea, and the hub of the Old City. O.K... maybe the pastry shop in the Jewish Quarter...
Everywhere we went...
We were singing, praying, and fellowshipping with anyone who would talk to us. We had a little joke going that after each conversation with someone, we should have walked away with a course certificate... and somedays, a college degree! We had such an amazing experience meeting the people of the land, and seeing things and people we know we wouldn't have had we been in a large group tour.
Lastly, A big THANK YOU to all who journeyed with me, in prayer support, financial support, and believing in me and what God is doing in and through me. As I digest more, I will continue to write here on my blog.
May the Lord bless and keep you! May the light of His face shine upon you! [Numbers 6:24-26]
